Growing up in small town Oldtown, Idaho, being surrounded by the timber industry seemed back-woods boring. Now, years later, after attending design college in Los Angeles and working in Seattle, I've returned to the roots of North Idaho and the beauty that is found in it's raw natural surroundings. Our family always had hard working hands and a flare for creativity, so it wasn't surprising that I should start encouraging my parents to create rustic home furnishings from the timber on our Idaho State Stewardship Tree Farm. Raw resources that we once burned to clean up the forest floor, we now turn into Ponderosa Pine coffee tables, hutches, garden benches & coat trees, custom signs & frames, birch bark mirrors and sconces, dining sets, and rustic furnishings to accent my nature photography.
Living at my small business location, the locals started calling my art studio "Autumn's Loft", and now I've moved the business online and up to Priest Lake, representing other local artisans' functional art. My goal of inspiring creativity in our community has truly come to life. Between custom orders I make the time to get out and enjoy the beauty found in nature, capturing it with my lens here in the Selkirk Mountains of North Idaho.
